people peeping

I was waiting to meet up with my daughter for some quality 'girl time' when I noticed a elderly couple walking by. Oh you've seen the commercial where the man and woman are walking on a path and holding hands like they've done it their whole lives, well this wasn't one of those moments! This little couple have obviously thought they were put on this earth to terrorize each other. The little man carrying the bags like there wasnt anything breakable in them while the lady was criticizing him, he either couldn't hear a word she said or had tuned her out years ago. I had to laugh when she walked by and slugged him with her purse. But then I thought, how many times have we gone about our lives and not knowing or caring that anyone was watching. You always hear watch what you say because there are little ears listening, but what about little eyes? Even though I was out of earshot with the little couple I recognized the antagonistic behavior when I saw it. Have you ever thought about the image you portray to others? What about to God? I'm personally an eye roller, can't help it. I roll my eyes at almost everything. Alarm clock goes off, I roll my eyes. shower to hot, I roll my eyes. my newspaper is in the grass not the yard, I roll my eyes. you get the picture. how many people have seen me roll my eyes? Hundreds I'm sure. I'm trying to work on not doing it and thought what if God were talking to me? Would I roll my eyes? I'm sure I would...habit. But could you imagine what God would say? But sometimes that's how we live our lives, not caring that God is watching, every eye rolling time, muttering under your breath, slug your husband with your purse time. Oh how he must be shaking his head at our silly little antics when there is much more to life than our pettiness. How trivial it must seem that my newspaper landed in the gravel when my neighbor was just given a one way ticket to Hell because I was to busy to share the good news to him? I just want to take a minute to encourage everyone to stop and think about what is important in this life. Will it really matter that my alarm went off when I get to Heaven and find out my best friend isn't there? So take a little time today and introduce someone to Jesus.
